I watched Pitch Perfect 2 on DVD last night, having been unable to see it in the cinema. I thought it was a bit of a mess, suffering from sequelitis. It coasted a bit on liking the characters from their previous outing, the actors' charm - Hailee Stanfield is a welcome new addition, in particular - and it is funny in an offbeat way. I saw Inside Out this weekend (first visit to the cinema in a while) and it was a delight. I suspect there’ll be a generation of kids who saw it at the cinema and thought it was a fun, colourful romp about Joy, Sadness and Riley and then, a few years later on, will watch it again and be blindsided. I've been reading fanfiction for over a decade, so you think I'd know how to avoid abandoned WIPs. Obviously, it's easier on archives than journals. It's that horrible moment, a few chapters from the end, when you think 'There's no way the writer can wrap all the story up unless if the chapters become exponentially longer.'
